In a pioneering effort to fortify professional ethics within the nation and raise awareness about the recently enacted Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption joined forces to conduct a comprehensive two-day prevention program.

An awareness programme was conducted on January 19 th 2024 for 57 Asst. Commissioners newly recruited to the Department of Inland Revenue. The new Anti-Corruption Act and legal provisions on bribery and corruption, integrity in the public service, responsibility and accountability expected from public officers, were covered here using case studies and practical activities. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mrs. Ama Wijesinghe - Asst. Director (Legal), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Mrs. Madhuka Ruwanthi (Prevention Officer).

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption conducted a prevention program for 75 officers of the State Timber Corporation including Deputy Managers, Assistant Managers Regional Managers, Divisional Managers, Area Managers, District forest officers of the Forest Department on 12th January 2024, at the auditorium of the State Timber Corporation, Battaramulla. Resource contribution for the program was given by Mrs. Thushari Dayarathne , Assistant Director General of CIABOC.

A corruption prevention programme was held at the Gampaha Divisional Secretariat on 01st November 2023 for all Grama Niladhari Officers and Samurdhi Development Officers of the division. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Prevention Officers, Mrs. J. L. A. Udeshika Madhubashini, Mrs. Nipuni Tennakoon and Mrs. Vimukthi Jayasooriya.

A corruption prevention programme was held at the Elpitiya Amugoda Maha Vidyalaya on 05th December for Principals of Elpitiya Education Zone.

A corruption prevention programme was conducted on 4th December 2023 for the academic staff, non-academic staff and teacher trainees of Ruhunu National College of Education. This programme was an extension of the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme conducted in Wattala from 08th to 10th September 2023 targeting National Colleges of Education. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mr. Shantha Wickramarachchi (IP), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Mrs. Rushanthi Dilshani (Prevention Officer). Mr. Theekshana Wickramatilake (Investigation Officer) provided the technical assistance.

A corruption prevention programme was conducted on 30th November 2023 for the academic staff, non-academic staff and teacher trainees of Mahaweli National College of Education. This programme was an extension of the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme conducted in Wattala from 08th to 10th September 2023 targeting National Colleges of Education. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mr. Shantha Wickramarachchi (IP), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Miss. Vimukthi Jayasooriya (Prevention Officer). Mr. Pradeep Amarajeewa (Investigation Officer) provided the technical assistance.

A corruption prevention programme was conducted on 14th November 2023 for the academic staff, non-academic staff and teacher trainees of Peradeniya National College of Education. This programme was an extension of the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme conducted in Wattala from 08th to 10th September 2023 targeting National Colleges of Education. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mr. Shantha Wickramarachchi (IP), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Miss. Vimukthi Jayasooriya (Prevention Officer). A corruption prevention programme was conducted on 09th November 2023 for the academic staff, non-academic staff and teacher trainees of Sariputta National College of Education, Dambadeniya. This programme was an extension of the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme conducted in Wattala from 08th to 10th September 2023 targeting National Colleges of Education. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mr. Shantha Wickramarachchi (IP), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Miss. Vimukthi Jayasooriya (Prevention Officer). Mr. Ishan Ratnayake (Investigation Officer) provided the technical assistance.

A corruption prevention programme was conducted for the academic staff, non-academic staff and 75 student monks of Sariputta National College of Education, Nittambuwa on 31st October 2023. This programme was an extension of the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme conducted from 08th to 10th September 2023 targeting National Colleges of Education. Resource contribution for the programme was provided by Mr. Shantha Wickramarachchi (IP), Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara (Prevention Officer) and Mr. Pradeep Amarajeewa (Investigation Officer).

As ongoing series of programs this program was held on 31st August 2023 at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The program had the participation of Prof. W.A.S. Wijekoon - Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, as well as Mr. Tharindu - Lecturer from the same department. The main audience for the program consisted of undergraduates from the Department of Sociology at the university.

A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 27th September 2023 for Police Constables promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant at the Kalutara Police Training College, and the programme was conducted with the resource contribution of Prevention Officers, Mrs. J. L. A. Udeshika Madushani and Mr. Shammi Srilal.
