IMF representatives, Mrs. Sophia Zhang and Mrs. Manavi Abeywickrame met with the Commissioners of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption at the Commission premises on 17.01.2024. Mr. Joel Turkewitz and Dr. Sarwat Jahan of the IMF also participated virtually. The discussions primarily focused on the implementation of the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act and on measures that should be taken to combat bribery and corruption in the country.
Matters in relation to obtaining technical advice and expertise knowledge required when enforcing the Anti-Corruption Act were also discussed at this meeting.
