An instructor of veterinary office of Maskeliya was convicted by the Colombo High Court for accepting Bribe of Rs.5000/-. Thereafter, High Court Judge Mr.Gihan Kulathunga sentenced Accused for three years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs.5000/- .

The complainant is a farmer and the Accused demanded Rs.5000/- to transport Cows from the Complainant. The complainant complained to CIABOC and CIABOC has arranged a raid and arrested the Accused while accepting bribes.

Officers of veterinary department including veterinary surgeons gave evidence on behalf of the Accused.
