On February 17, 2025, the Mahaweli Development Authority (MDA) Zonal C Division in Dehiattakandiya, in collaboration with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), successfully conducted a corruption prevention workshop. The event brought together land officers, unit managers, field assistants, clerical staff, office executives, engineers, and agriculture advisors to promote integrity and transparency in public resource management.
CIABOC Corruption Prevention officers Shammi Sri Lal Thotawatta and Shilamega Welithotage led the sessions, focusing on ethical practices and accountability. This initiative aligns with the Mahaweli Renaissance Programme and the Clean Sri Lanka campaign, supporting the nation’s agricultural revival and sustainable development goals.
