The sixth day of the Mahaweli Renaissance Week of the Walawe Zone of Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority was reserved for a Bribery and Corruption Prevention Programme. The Renaissance Week was conducted in line with the Clean Sri Lanka National Programme themed, “A Rich Country- A Beautiful Life”. This week began on 10th March 2025 and the Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 15th March, i.e., on day six.
It was held at the D. A. Rajapakse Memorial Center, Embilipitya and was attended by approximately 200 employees of the Mahaweli Walawe System. Mrs. Udeshika Jayasekara, Prevention Officer of the Commission provided knowledge to the participants on preventing bribery and corruption, their repercussions, the Concept of Integrity and the New Anti-Corruption Act. The officer also discussed the problems participants had in that regard.
